Newtown Engineering Co. are Motor, Agriculture, Plant and Engineer specialists located in the beautiful Northumberland town of Rothbury.

We are dealers for a large number of companies that specialise in Agricultral machinery, such as McCormick tractors, Westmac machinery and Lely / Welger balers, a full list of our suppliers can be found within the sales section of this website.

Not only does Newtown Engineering stock Agricultural and garden machinery, we also have a workshop, stores and a shop all on one premises, so we can supply all your needs!

Newtown Engineering Co, has been in business since 1972, when it was started by Ray Edmondson in a farm building at Newtown Farm, Rothbury. After a few months it was moved too the Co-op garage, Backcroft, Rothbury. The compqny is run today by Ray and his wife Dorcas.

In 1974 we obtained our first tractor dealership selling Universal Tractors, we also had a sub-Dealership selling David Brown Tractors. We moved into our present premises in 1977. We obtained the Renault Agriculture dealership in 1979, the McCormick dealership was added in 2007. We hold numerous agency's for all types of machinery.

In 2000, due to the cut backs in farming we were looking to add other services we could provide to our customers and started to supply, service and repair Garden Machinery which has proven very successful. We also obtained a franchise to supply waste oil heaters (Clean Burn Heaters) which we have installed in premises from Co.Durham to the Scottish Borders.
